Say Hi to Shadow Mountain Santa Fe

--

Shadow Mountain Recovery Centers are located in Spring Branch, Texas, and Albuquerque, Taos, and Santa Fe, New Mexico. Each one of them offers the highest quality of treatment for addiction and/or mental health struggles, and each one of them has its unique qualities as well. We’re going to tell you about our Santa Fe location today.

It’s a special treatment/rehabilitation facility where we proudly host clients at the beginning of their recovery journey, but more than that, we dedicate ourselves to teaching tools that will help maintain lifelong recovery. And honestly, the absolutely gorgeous setting plays into that as well.

The beautiful horizon and magical landscapes are jointed by a rich and interesting cultural heritage. There’s nowhere quite like the American Southwest. These aspects encourage our clients to look inward and to connect with who they are physically, mentally, and emotionally.

When someone joins us at the Santa Fe location (or any Shadow Mountain Recovery Center) we want to help them know themselves better. There are quite a few ways we do this, each one important, and each one tailored for the individual.

The How and What of Recovery at Shadow Mountain

You are the “who,” the unique person coming to us for beginning your lifelong healing and recovery. And just like the “who,” the “why” is unique as well. Your reasons for beginning recovery might have certain things in common with the other clients, but we know that doesn’t mean you’re the same.

Individuality is one of the main gears that drives the metaphorical machinery at Shadow Mountain. We assess your life, your needs, and develop your treatment using all the evidence-based options we offer. One of those options is called activity-based therapy (ABT), and at the Santa Fe location that means a few things, but one in particular has to do with trees — old trees, in fact.

We offer ABT involving hikes, adventures, and sightseeing at the Santa Fe National Forest, which is more than a little beautiful, as you can see. It’s not just about comfort, though that does

play into it, because when your body and mind are at peace it becomes a little easier to do the needed work of recovery.

Another form of ABT is art therapy, which is powered by the thriving art community in New Mexico. There are local art shows to bring inspiration and the possibility of expressing emotions that sometimes evade words. We want to give our clients every opportunity to heal, in whatever way they need.

People have been mesmerized by the American Southwest for a long time. It possesses many qualities that enhance human beings’ natural spirituality. Shadow Mountain Recovery Centers are all-inclusive, and we encourage clients to find their inner peace and recovery using their experiences and needs as the guides.

Here There Be Evidence

Did you know at least 40% of those who struggle with an addiction are also struggling with a mental/emotional disorder? These mental struggles can sometimes be one of the factors that cause substance use disorder, but they can also develop due to substance use.

So, knowing that a little less than half of all those struggling with addiction might also be struggling with mental/emotional health problems, what’s the answer? Treating them both. That means Shadow Mountain specializes in something called dual diagnosis treatment.

There are psychologists and psychiatrists available at our locations to quickly and professionally address any mental illnesses and treat them thoroughly. Struggling with recovery can take its toll on someone, and we want to make sure nothing goes untreated — that way we can ensure the best outcome possible.

One reason for this is that statistics show when dual diagnosis is utilized, and someone is treated for their substance use and a co-occurring mental/emotional disorder, clients are much more likely to maintain their recovery into the future.

Comfort At All Levels: Physical, Mental, Spiritual

Addiction and/or dependence on a drug or substance can have drastic effects on someone’s physical and mental well-being. The side effects of withdrawal can be incredibly tough to manage on your own, and in some situations can be dangerous or even life-threatening.

The Shadow Mountain Recovery Center in Santa Fe boasts a comprehensive and comfortable detox center featuring round-the-clock support from licensed medical professionals. They can administer medications to help manage withdrawal symptoms, they can monitor your process so you aren’t in any danger, and they will make sure you stay safe while you recover.

We love helping our clients discover the joys of self-care and teach them ways to utilize it as they go forward into their long-term recovery. Another way we do this is by offering a full year of aftercare support, which means we have an alumni network available for all clients, people who have successfully begun their recovery with Shadow Mountain want to help you do the same.

The Santa Fe location is gender inclusive and welcomes all who are over the age of 18. We also have an on-site chef to deliver healthy and memorable meals, just one more way to nurture yourself while you find the peace of mind and body you need. Give us a call or shoot us a message online. Someone is always here to talk.
